Navigating the Waves of Grief

Grief is not a one-time event. It comes in waves. This page is for riding a wave without spiritual bypassing—staying in your body, telling the truth, and letting Christ hold you while you carry it.

EFT (Tapping)

EFT gave Krissy a way to manage intense emotional waves in a healthy way. It doesn’t let you bypass the pain; it gives grief a voice and a sense of relief as you move through it.

Step by step

  1. Rate the intensity of what you feel on a scale of 1–10.
  2. Optional: place 2–3 drops of a grounding oil in your hands, cup over your nose, and take three deep breaths.
  3. Tap through Part I (acknowledging), using points such as top of head, eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, under arm, and wrist—repeating phrases like: “Even though I feel so much pain and grief after losing my child, I deeply and completely love, forgive and accept how I feel.”
  4. After a round, squeeze your wrist and take 3 deep breaths. Repeat until intensity softens (she aimed below a three before moving to releasing and replacing rounds). Full script is in the book’s appendix.

If you’re struggling right now

You do not have to fix the whole night. Soften your body first. These breath practices are from Krissy’s toolbox (Breathwork).

Physiological Sigh

For instant stress relief: inhale deeply through your nose, sip a second sharp burst at the top, then long slow sigh out the mouth. Repeat 2 or 3 times.

Box Breathing

Inhale 4 · hold 4 · exhale 4 · hold 4. Repeat for 2 to 5 minutes. Open the guided exercise.

4-7-8

Exhale whoosh · inhale 4 · hold 7 · exhale 8. Repeat for 4 cycles.
